Ranbir Kapoor, the blue-eyed boy of the illustrious Kapoor khandaan, is often labelled a Casanova. Buzz also suggests that the actor develops a cold feet when you mention marriage or then settling down in life. But seems like there are bigger fears that RK Jr has in life…The actor had a dream debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Sawaariya about eight years ago with another star kid, Sonam Kapoor. This was supposed to be Ranbir’s big ticket entry into the tinsel town. Starry eyed and diligent, the Kapoor scion did everything from going topless to showing off his acting skills (and so much more!) to us! No stone was left unturned to ensure that this film works….but alas! It didn’t. It’s failure to entice audience would be because of two reasons: Deepika Padukone – Shah Rukh Khan’s magnum opus Om Shanti Om and secondly, because Salman Khan’s comeo in Saawariya did not exactly help the Tamasha star!
Ranbir since then became wary of accepting films which had a second hero. Ranbir’s decision is really not surprising in the industry which rides on runaway successes and flimsy egos. According to the a leading entertainment tabloid, the Roy actor believes that he can carry an entire film on his own shoulders and doesn’t need any other star to make it a hit.
We do not know if this is his self confidence or then arrogance, but given his recent dry run at the box office he could do away with this phobia. However, we also believe that the actor does have a point, coz baring Prakash Jha’s Rajneeti which had an ensemble cast his none other movies having another star (like Roy) did well at the box office! Which also means unlike the Khans who have united on screen, we might not really see Ranbir share screen space with his.
